One upholsterer, start to finish. Furniture, boat interiors, vehicle seating and commercial re-covers, built on frames, springs and foam rather than a cover thrown over what’s already failing.

Squabs, berth cushions, helm seats and cabin trim, plus marine canvas: dodgers, covers and clears.
Worn seats, sagging headlinings, split door cards and tired trim, in cars, motorhomes and caravans.
Contract-grade re-covers for hospitality, healthcare, aged care and daycare furniture, built for daily heavy use.
Sofas, chairs and favourite pieces, padding, comfort and cover rebuilt, from one armchair to a full suite.
Thick, firm cushions for indoor and outdoor seating, dining chairs, window seats, outdoor bench pads.
A quick re-cover throws new fabric over whatever padding, webbing and springs are already there, it looks right for a season, then sags in the same places it did before. We go in properly: frame and joints checked, webbing and springs replaced where they’ve gone, foam rebuilt to the firmness you actually want, then the new cover patterned and fitted to the piece itself. That’s the difference between a job that lasts a year and one that lasts a decade.

Frame, springs, foam, cover – and how the piece actually gets used.
Materials, colour and firmness agreed before anything’s cut.
Joints re-glued, webbing and springs replaced, foam rebuilt to spec.
Patterned on the piece itself, cut to follow the shape, fitted tight.
We’re in Kingseat, ten minutes from Papakura, and most jobs come to the workshop. For anything that won’t travel easily – a fitted bench, a boat on a trailer, a full lounge suite – we collect and deliver across Franklin. Send photos either way and we’ll tell you which makes sense.
Send photos regardless, a lot of jobs travel well, and for boats and larger pieces we’ll tell you honestly whether a site visit makes sense.
One workshop, all of it – the same person quotes and does the work whether it’s a dining chair, a car seat or a boat interior. What changes between them is materials and technique, not who’s doing the job.
As with most trades this is like asking how long a piece of string is, it ultimately depends on the complexity of the piece you are wanting upholstered, how easy it is to source materials if we do not have them on hand and any other delays that are outside of my control.
In the event where you cannot get the piece you are wanting upholstered to my workshop, and assuming I can use my tools with adequate lighting and other amenities including a suitable workspace at your premise, I may be able to carry out the work there.
Yes! Send photos or call, and you’ll get an honest answer on what’s worth doing before anything’s quoted.
Yes. Squabs, cushions and covers built for constant damp and UV, not just indoor fabric.
I have access to a vast range of materials through my supplier network, so if you have something in particular in mind, do not be afraid to ask. However almost all my marine pieces I fabricate or upholster with marine canvas, marine vinyl or PVC.
Send a few photos through, or give us a call and we’ll talk it over.
